Elevate Academy North: Empowering Students for Careers in Manufacturing, Trades and More
Recently, our ATC team members had the privilege of paying a visit to Elevate Academy North, a new Career Technical school for middle school and high school. We were thrilled to collaborate with this invaluable educational institution in our community.
About Elevate Academy North
Elevate Academy North stands out for its innovative approach to education. They’ve woven together academic learning and real-world career prospects, believing that this approach inspires students’ passion and equips them with skills for their future workplaces. Notably, they’re teaching students who’ve previously struggled with traditional schooling, and fostering a more positive experience.
Elevate branches away from a traditional emphasis on collegiate education, and instead, provides hands-on experiences and learning centered around real-world careers and practical skills. Some examples include aerospace/drones, manufacturing/welding, culinary arts, health professions (EMT/Wilderness, Survival & Rescue), construction, and more.
ATC’s Visit to Elevate Academy North
During our visit, several of our ATC experts joined the academy’s CNC and 3D printing classes to provide professional insight. We talked about ATC and how the skills that the students are learning, can be applied in various roles at our aerospace manufacturing facility. The students displayed remarkable engagement and curiosity, making it a truly positive experience.
We also took this opportunity to extend an invitation for students eager to explore our facility and witness our machinery in action. Our team is more than happy to assist and address any technical inquiries they have.
Key Takeaways
In a study by Deloitte and The Manufacturing Institute, it is expected that 2.1 million manufacturing jobs will be completely unfilled by 2030. This reality is daunting, and cannot be unignored. It is out hope that by working with institutions like Elevate Academy North, we will work towards filling unfilled job opportunities.
At ATC, we see this kind of collaboration between manufacturers and educational institutions as a key part of developing new talent pipelines. By pouring education and skill development into jobs that are critical to manufacturers like ATC, Elevate North is helping to bridge the gap and bring more students into skilled trades.
Both ATC Manufacturing and Elevate Academy North, are partners with the proposed American Aerospace Materials Manufacturing Center Tech Hub project. To learn more about the initiative, press here.
